This multicarrier BTS is the highest capacity CDMA BTS on the market, supporting up to 8 carriers and 1,536 channel elements in a single rack. The optional expansion rack increases system capacity to 15 carriers and 3,072 channel elements, providing ample room for future growth.

Designed to reduce CAPEX & OPEX
Samsun's next generation BTS has been designed to reduce both the intial capital and ongoing operational expenses. Channel elements are pooled within the rack, reducing the number of channel element cards required to service the market. Increased carrier density per rack reduces the cost of carrier upgrades. Power consumption is reduced up to 60% to significantly reduce operational expenses. Enhanced maintenance functions and reduced number of modules minmizes support and spares expense.
The System utilizes a high-speed ATM backbone to virtually eliminate delays and assure quick and efficient handoffs. The ATM-based network supports Quality of Service (QoS) and ATM Adaption Layers 2 & 5 (AAL2/AAL5) that provide higher backhaul efficiency and reduced bandwidth requirements capable of supporting voice, data and video onto one network.

The System can be upgraded to support: Smart Antenna, Selectable Mode Vocoder (SMV), 4 branch receive diversity and IP-based BSS. The system offers a smooth migration path to take advantage of upcoming communication standards while protecting your original hardware investment.
